Kakobuy Budget: Do Not Spend the Shipping Money in the Product Stage

A shopping-agent budget should survive the warehouse stage.

The easiest way to avoid a late surprise is to split the budget before browsing instead of treating every available dollar as product money.

Create four envelopes

1

Product envelope

The products themselves.

2

Seller-side / purchase envelope

Any purchase-side or domestic costs shown by the live order flow.

Do not hard-code a platform fee here. Use the current checkout information.

3

Parcel reserve

Money intentionally left for international shipping and packaging decisions.

Before treating shipping as a fixed part of the budget, check the live estimate using the current parcel assumptions.

4

Flex reserve

A smaller amount for: weight higher than expected, bulkier dimensions, a different route, additional protection, a second parcel when necessary.

The stop signal

If product spending reaches the point where the parcel reserve would have to disappear, the haul is over budget before international shipping even begins.

Stop adding products.

Use delivered value, not source price

A product can look cheap on the source page but be poor value after: domestic delivery, international parcel share, bulky packaging, sizing risk, low expected use.

Ask: Would I still want this if I saw the approximate delivered cost instead of the source price alone?

Give bulky items a warning tag

Tag products that may distort the parcel: shoe box, puffer, rigid bag, large packaging, fragile protected item.

The tag is not a reason to avoid the product. It is a reason to protect the parcel reserve.

Do not fake precision too early

Before warehouse data exists, use ranges.

Example format:

Products: planned fixed amount Shipping reserve: low / expected / high Flex reserve: fixed buffer

After packing, replace the range with the live estimate.

Post-parcel review

After delivery, save: product total, parcel cost, item count, notable bulky items, packaging choice.

Do not turn one parcel into a universal shipping rule. Use it as a reference for your next similar parcel.
