Kakobuy Updates: Separate Platform Announcements From Government Rules

This page tracks changes that can materially affect a Kakobuy order or parcel. Every entry names the issuer because a Kakobuy commercial policy and a government customs rule are not the same thing.

Use the date and source link before acting. For routes, promotions and service policies, the live Kakobuy interface remains the current operational source. For customs rules, use the government or customs authority.

7 October 2026 — EU confirms €2 Union handling fee from 1 November 2026

Issuer: European Commission

The European Commission has confirmed that the Union handling fee will be €2 and will apply from 1 November 2026 under the EU Customs Reform.

This is separate from the temporary €3 customs duty that has applied to qualifying low-value e-commerce imports since 1 July 2026.

For Kakobuy users, treat these as two separate layers of the import process and still check the live parcel checkout before submitting a shipment, because platform presentation, logistics charges and destination-specific treatment can differ from the underlying EU customs rule.

21 September 2026 — EU Customs Reform entered into force

Issuer: European Commission

The EU Customs Reform entered into force in September 2026 and is being implemented in stages.

For low-value e-commerce imports, the previous customs-duty exemption for goods up to €150 ended before the temporary €3 customs duty began on 1 July 2026.

The European Commission subsequently confirmed on 7 October 2026 that the Union handling fee is €2 and will apply from 1 November 2026.

See the newer 7 October update above for the current handling-fee position.

13 July 2026 — UK low-value import reform published

Issuer: HM Revenue & Customs / UK Government

The UK published legislation and policy for removing the £135 low-value import customs-duty relief and creating new customs arrangements. The policy paper says the operative date will be appointed by Treasury regulations by October 2028 at the latest.

That means the current Great Britain rule still matters today: GOV.UK currently says non-excise goods worth £135 or less have no Customs Duty, while VAT treatment still applies. The reform is real, but its future commencement must not be written as if it has already replaced today's rule.

22 June 2026 — Kakobuy publishes EU €3-per-parcel support policy

Issuer: Kakobuy

Kakobuy announced its own support policy for the EU low-value customs change. The current announcement says Kakobuy users pay €3 per parcel regardless of the number of product categories, that additional customs-related costs caused by multiple categories are covered by Kakobuy, and that the fee is included in the shipping cost when the parcel is submitted.

This is a Kakobuy platform policy, not the legal wording of the EU customs duty. The EU Commission describes the legal temporary charge as €3 per item. Keep those two layers separate.

Kakobuy also says it will notify users if it can no longer maintain the subsidy policy, so recheck the announcement and live parcel checkout before relying on it.

22 October 2025 — Original Order Tracking launched

Issuer: Kakobuy

Kakobuy added a seller-side tracking view tied to the Purchase Order Number. The launch notice directs users through User Center → Order to inspect the domestic order journey before the item becomes part of an international parcel. The practical change was clearer visibility before warehouse consolidation; international parcel tracking remains a separate record.

29 August 2025 — U.S. duty-free de minimis suspended broadly

Issuer: U.S. Customs and Border Protection

CBP ended the broad duty-free de minimis treatment for qualifying commercial shipments at or below $800 from 29 August 2025, while limited statutory exceptions remain. For current U.S.-bound Kakobuy parcels, an old '$800 = duty free' shortcut is therefore not a reliable planning rule; use current CBP and live route information instead.

How this page is maintained

A dated entry should be added only when the change affects a real decision: payment, purchasing, warehouse handling, tracking, shipping eligibility, customs/tax treatment, or an important Kakobuy service feature.

Do not publish routine promotion banners as permanent “policy” content. If a promotion is mentioned, include the actual validity period and current official source.
