Kakobuy Shipping to Europe: Separate EU Law From Kakobuy's Own Shipping Policy
“Europe” is too broad to be one shipping answer. A parcel to France, Germany, Italy, Spain, Poland or another destination can see different route availability, delivery partners and local handling.
There is also a second distinction that matters now: the EU customs rule and Kakobuy's own user-facing support policy are not the same thing. Keep those layers separate.
Current EU low-value customs rule
The European Commission says that from 1 July 2026, the former customs-duty exemption for low-value e-commerce consignments up to €150 was removed and replaced temporarily by a €3 customs duty per item until 1 July 2028.
For this temporary mechanism, “per item” is based on tariff classification rather than simple quantity. The Commission's own example shows:
- 5 T-shirts in one parcel → €3 because they fall under one tariff classification;
- T-shirts plus a watch → €6 because two classifications are present.
The Commission also says the duty is normally declared and paid by the seller/importer or relevant representative in the customs process, rather than being framed as a universal consumer checkout fee.

Kakobuy's announced €3-per-parcel support policy is a platform policy
Kakobuy published a separate announcement on 22 June 2026 saying it would charge its users €3 per parcel, regardless of the number of product categories inside, and absorb additional customs-related cost created by multiple categories under its support arrangement.
That does not change the legal structure of the EU customs duty. It describes what Kakobuy says it will currently charge/cover for users under its own policy.
Because Kakobuy also states that it will notify users if the policy cannot continue, recheck the current announcement and live parcel checkout before relying on it.

A €2 Union Handling Fee Starts on 1 November 2026
The European Commission confirmed on 7 October 2026 that the Union handling fee is €2 and will apply from 1 November 2026 under the EU Customs Reform.
Keep this separate from the temporary €3 customs duty:
- Temporary €3 customs duty: introduced for qualifying low-value e-commerce imports from 1 July 2026.
- €2 Union handling fee: applies from 1 November 2026.
- VAT, carrier charges and destination-specific costs: remain separate questions.
Do not simplify these rules into a permanent “€5 per parcel” statement. The EU measures operate under their own customs rules, while the way a shopping platform or logistics provider presents charges to the buyer can be different.
For a Kakobuy parcel, use the current EU rule as the legal-policy layer, then check the live Kakobuy parcel checkout for the actual platform and shipping charges shown at submission time.

EU rule vs Kakobuy platform policy
EU legal layer
The EU currently applies the temporary €3 customs duty under the relevant low-value import rules and, from 1 November 2026, a separate €2 Union handling fee.
Kakobuy platform layer
Kakobuy’s own published €3-per-parcel support arrangement is a platform policy. It is not the legal definition of the EU customs duty or the Union handling fee, and Kakobuy can change its own commercial policy.

Country first
Before comparing Kakobuy routes:
- set the actual destination country;
- enter the real postcode when required;
- finalize the warehouse item group;
- review current packed weight and dimensions;
- confirm packaging choices;
- check whether the selected goods have route restrictions.
Only then compare the routes displayed for that country.
Do not copy another country's route screenshot
A recommendation such as “use Line X to Europe” is incomplete.
Ask:
- Was that line shown for my country?
- Was the parcel similar?
- Did it contain the same kind of goods?
- Were the weight and dimensions comparable?
- Was the screenshot created under the current EU customs regime?
If not, it is context, not a quote.

VAT and destination-country handling still matter
The €3 temporary customs duty did not replace VAT or every destination-country delivery/handling rule.
Check:
- current EU-level information;
- the destination country's customs/postal guidance where relevant;
- Kakobuy's current route notes;
- the final parcel checkout.
Do not publish “tax free” as a permanent route characteristic without the current mechanism and source.
Local-carrier handoff
When the international route produces a new local carrier number:
- save it;
- connect it to the original Kakobuy parcel reference;
- use the local carrier for last-mile detail when appropriate;
- keep the original tracking record so the handoff remains traceable.
