Kakobuy Headwear: A Hat Is a Three-Dimensional Shape, Not a Flat Logo
Headwear is often judged from the front because that is where the embroidery sits.
Fit is determined elsewhere: circumference, crown depth, brim shape and closure.
Start with the head opening
For fitted or sized headwear: find the circumference range, compare it with a hat you already wear, check whether the listing uses a fixed size or range.
For adjustable caps: identify the closure type, check the usable adjustment range when available.
Crown depth
A shallow crown and a deep crown can look completely different on the same head.
Product photos from the side are useful because they show: height, panel shape, front profile.
Do not rely only on a straight-on embroidery photo.
Brim
Check: curved or flat, width, apparent stiffness, symmetry.
At QC, a top/front photo can help reveal uneven brim shape.
Decoration
Inspect: embroidery centering, patch position, edge cleanliness, rear/side graphics, text alignment.
The decoration may be correct while the shape is wrong, so do not let a clean logo end the review.
Packing
If crown shape matters: avoid crushing it under heavy goods, use suitable internal support when needed, record a "protect shape" note before parcel submission.
Beanies and soft headwear need far less structure.
Best shortlist question
Ask: Would I still want this hat if the front logo were removed?
If the answer is no because the shape is not right, the graphic is doing too much of the decision-making.
Build a shape profile
Write four attributes:
Crown: shallow / standard / deep Front: soft / structured Brim: flat / curved / flexible Closure: fitted / snap / strap / elastic
This profile is often more useful than the brand or logo when comparing two hats.
Photograph shape, not just embroidery
For QC, a hat should be visible in a form that shows the crown.
A completely flattened photo can make embroidery easy to inspect but fit impossible to judge.
Useful angles: front at eye level, side, top, rear closure, interior size/label if needed.
Beanies
For beanies, focus less on brim/crown structure and more on: length, cuff depth, width, knit appearance, decoration placement.
Packing decision
Soft beanies can pack with clothing.
Structured caps may need: crown support, protection from heavy items, placement near the top/edge of a parcel rather than under dense goods.
